Sulieti Fieme'a Burrows and Tui Emma Gillies
Sulieti Fieme'a Burrows and Tui Emma Gillies are collaborative mother-daughter tapa artists. Tapa is a treasured Tongan cloth made from the inner bark of a mulberry tree. It is constantly beaten until it flattens into a canvas. They would paint the canvas using inks, illustrating images close to their hearts - those that remind them of their heritage and their home.
